Letter of the Month:

Dear Mark and Joyce,
Last night, because of your hard work and endless attention to detail, Gary and I got to be guests at our own wedding. We received no greater gift - not from our friends, not from our families.

We tried, after listening to our married friends, to remember each bit and piece of our wedding. We concentrated on paying attention that day-knowing that the hours would fly by and that our wedding day would be a memory as fast as it came upon us. We talked on our honeymoon about how much we remembered. And yet, last night, as we sat mesmerized by our television set, we were witness to the fact that the day held secrets that only your camera caught!

There were a few moments from our day that have remained with me-those precious, important snap shots of time that I have kept in my heart these past few months. As I watched our video last night, I marveled at the fact that you two saw the magic of those moments-as each of them ended up being a part of the finished product.

Thank you for capturing my mothers face during the final prayer of our ceremony. With my back to her that day, I couldn't see her-and yet I knew that the prayer held a special place in her heart.

Thank you for capturing Gary singing our favorite line of our song to me during our first dance. He sang that to me the first time we listened to that song over 2 years ago-I was blown away last night, realizing that we have that moment captured on video.

Thank you for capturing my friend Sam and I singing "Grease" together. We used to sing that song as children. It had been years since we had the chance to do it again. And, as you were for every moment of the day, you were there to make a lasting memory for us.

Joyce and Mark, my journalism and English degrees feel useless to me as I try to explain just how much Gary and I loved working with you. Our meetings prior to our day, our taping of the "He said/She said" and our long talks about our hopes for what our wedding would be like set the stage for the finished product that we watched for the first time last night.

Thank you for the time you spent getting to know us. Our genuine affection for each other is, I am sure, one of the millions reason why our video is so perfect. Thank you for understanding our balance of humor and sentimentality. That came through in the 2-hour video that you so masterfully prepared for us.

We had no doubt that the finished product would be an heirloom that we would be proud to show our children. But, what we got was more than that. You captured who we are both individually, and as a couple. You took that, filtered it through who you are-your experience, your expertise and your tenacious desire to make our video as special as our day- and you made a wedding video that is filled with love, happiness and magic!

As I wrote in the beginning of this letter, Joyce and Mark, you gave us the gift of our wedding. You allowed us a glimpse into our memories, and you showed us, with your great care and effort, that our day was truly as magical as our dreams!

Thank you Mark and Joyce-

Thank you for your time and your dedication to us and to your craft. We will never be able to repay you for your precious gift!

All our love,
Rachel and Gary Robinson
