Why transfer my photos and slides to video?
Most family photos are stuck in albums, hardly viewed. Worse, others are sitting in shoeboxes in a closet. Transferring those prints and slides to video enables you to enjoy them more often as well as easily share them with others. In addition, cropping to the best part of the photos, color-correcting, adding music and smooth transitions turns that photos into something you'll be proud to show off or give as a gift!
How many photos should I use?
There are two ways to decide this. If the final production is to be shown in front of a large audience, we generally recommend that the final tape be no longer than 12-15 minutes. At an average of perhaps 10 photos per minute, you can probably figure 120 to 150 photos is a good number.
For family viewing or as a gift, the final length is generally less important. For some needs, such as a new baby or a family members birthday, 150 to 200 might be just fine. If it's for a 50th anniversary and you are essentially summing up a family history, 500 is not unusual!
How do I bring the photos in?
You need to put them in the order and (lightly!) number the back of the photos to help us to keep them in order.
What type of services do you offer?
We offer the Memoirs Service, which puts each of your still photos into a production with an opening title, closing title and music.
The Chronicle Service goes a step further by adding motion to the photos: Slow pans and zooms add a much more professional look to your production. In addition, more titles are not a problem….such as titles separating segments.
Our finest service, The Biography, truly looks like the A&E television show of the same name. In addition to the photos-in-motion service as above, we add voiceovers, old movie footage, whatever titles and music changes are necessary, etc. Whether funny, touching or a bit of each, this is really the ultimate gift or party centerpiece for that special person in your life!
